AGATE AWARDS


The AGATE Board would like to recognize those who nurture and support the development of gifted children and gifted education in Arkansas.  The award honorees will be recognized at the AGATE Conference in February.  As an individual or affiliate group, we invite you to peruse the awards and nominate someone deserving of AGATE recognition for a job well done.

Martha Ann Jones-Norton Service Award

The purpose of the Martha Ann Jones-Norton Award is to honor and recognize a member of AGATE for outstanding service to the organization.

Challenger Award

The purpose of the Challenger Award is to honor and recognize a person or persons who risked taking an unusual (creative, different, innovative) step in a direction most people would probably not think of or consider. 

Award of Excellence

The purpose of the Award of Excellence is to recognize any person promoting excellence in education, particularly as it relates to gifted and talented children and youth in Arkansas. 

Youth Challenger Award

The purpose of the Youth Challenger Award is to honor and recognize a student in grades 7-12 who risked taking an unusual (creative, different, innovative) step in a direction most people would not think of or consider.

Educator Recognition Award

The purpose of Educator Recognition Awards is to recognize those individuals in the field of education who have made significant contributions to the education of gifted and talented students.

Parent-Community Recognition Award

The Parent-Community Recognition Award is intended for either a parent or community member who has demonstrated support to AGATE and the development of gifted students in Arkansas.

Curriculum Award

The purpose of this Curriculum Award is to highlight the importance of differentiated curriculum and to recognize outstanding curriculum units.
